    So, if w=width

    given, width=9cm

    P=12.6+2w

    P=12.6+2 (9)

    P=12.6+18

    P=30.6cm

    the perimeter is 30.6cm

    P=12.6+2w

    Plug in the width, which is 9 cm into the equation

    P=12.6 + (2*9)

    P=12.6+18
