Pizza dough doubles in volume every 3 minutes and reaches its maximum size in 30 minutes. How many minutes does it take for the pizza to reach half its maximum volume?

(A) 3

(B) 10

(C) 15

(D) 24

(E) 27

Solution: 30/3 = 10 times.

20^10 / 2^1 = 2^9

9 x 3 = 27

Why though? Can someone explain the steps?
