A cylinder-shaped container has a radius of 25 centimeters and a height of 100 centimeters. A glass sphere with a radius of 10 centimeters is placed inside the cylinder shaped container and then the container is completely filled with water. What is the approximate volume of water contained in the cylinder? Use 3.14 for pi.

    V sphere = 3/4 x 3.14 x 12^3 = 7,235

    V cylinder = 100 x 3.14 x 30^2 = 282,600

    =" V water = 282,600 - 7,235 = 275,365
