Leann wants to gift wrap a present she got for her little brother she got for her little brother. how many square inches of gift wrap will be needed to cover a box that is 5in x 7in x 3in?

    So we want to know the area of the giftwrap that LeAnn needs to cover a box that is 4in x 6in x 2in. So the box has the area A = 2 * 4^2 in^2 + 2*6^2 in^2 + 2*2^2 in^2 and that is A = 2*16in^2 + 2*36 in^2 + 2*4in^2. So A = 32 in^2 + 72 in^2 + 8 in^2 = 112 in^2. So LeAnn needs 112 in^2 of giftwrap.
