Hi,

The sphere has for equation : (x+1) ² + (y-3) ² + (z+1) ²=4

The xy plane has for equation z=0

The trace off the sphere in the xyplane is

(x+1) ² + (y-3) ²=4 (the circle of center (-1,3,0) &nd 2 as radius)
