Write a function rule for the area of a rectangle whose length is 6 ft more than its width. What is the area of the rectangle when its width is 12 ft?

    Let x be the width.

    => x+6 will be the length.

    Function: x (x+6) = x^2+6x

    Area = 12^2+6.12 = 216 ft
