    IF y-4x=8y=2 (2x+4)

    then y-8y=4x+2 (2x+4)

    y-8y=4x+4x+8

    -7y=8x+8

    y = (-8x-8) / 7

    x = (-7y-8) / 8

    IF y-4x=8 and y=2 (2x+4)

    then a) y=4x+8 and b) y=4x+8 so we have infinite answer

    I'm assuming the two equations are:

    y - 4x = 8

    and

    y = 2 (2x+4)

    So the first equation can be rewritten as:

    y = 4x + 8

    The second equation, we can distribute the 2 to get:

    y = 4x + 8

    Thus we see that both equations are identical, which means there are an infinite number of solutions.
