    If 40% are bananas, then 60% are apples. 60% as a multiplier is (60/100) = 0.6

    So 120*0.6=72 apples

Hello there! 40% of the fruits are bananas, and percents are parts of 100. 100 - 40 is 60. 60% of the other fruits are apples. To find out the amount of apples there are, all you have to do is multiply the total amount of fruits (120) by the percentage of the amount of apples in decimal form. 60% is 0.6 in decimal form. 120 * 0.6 is 72. There are 72 apples.
