    Y = mx + b

    slope (m) = - 2

    (-1,6) ... x = - 1 and y = 6

    now we sub and find b, the y int

    6 = - 2 (-1) + b

    6 = 2 + b

    6 - 2 = b

    4 = b

    so ur equation is : y = - 2x + 4 <==

    We are given an (X, Y) in (-1, 6). We are also given a slope of - 2.

    Start by plugging all those values into the slope intercept equation.

    6 = - 2*-1 + B

    Solve for B.

    B = 4

    Now, all you have to do is put it back into the equation again, this time not using the (X, Y) we had initially, but just the slope (-2) and our new "B" value (5).

    The resulting equation looks like this:

    y = - 2x + 4

    And that's the answer.
