Killer whales in the Pacific are about 2.6 m long at birth. They grow at a rate of about 0.38 m per year, up to the age of 10 or more years. A marine biologist finds and rescues a 5-meter-long killer whale stranded on a beach. Based on this information, how old is the whale?

    5-2.6 = 2.4

    2.4/.38 = 6.316

    6.316
