    1.25 for every half mile ... this means it is 2.50 for every mile

    3.75 + 2.50m = 12.50

    2.50m = 12.50 - 3.75

    2.50m = 8.75

    m = 8.75 / 2.50

    m = 3.5 < = = = Jodi traveled 3.5 miles (or 3 1/2 miles)

    (12.5 - 3,75) / 1,25 / 2 = 8,75 / 1,25 / 2 = 7 / 2 = 3.5 miles
