How to find the value of x such that the data set 100, 120, 110, 110, 110 and x has a mean of 120?

    (100 + 120 + 110 + 110 + 110 + x) / 6 = 120

    (550 + x) / 6 = 120

    Multiply both sides by 6

    550 + x = 720

    subtract 550 from both sides

    x = 170

    x is 130 to get the mean you need to eliminate values until you remain with the values in the middle so me middle values are (110+x) / 2=120

    110+x=240

    x=130
