The length of a rectangle is 2 feet longer than the width. the perimeter is 28 feet. find the dimensions of the rectangle.

    Perimeter=2l+2w

    28=2l+2w

    l=w+2

    Substitute for l

    28=2 (w+2) + 2w

    28 = 2w+4+2w

    28=4w+4

    24=4w

    6=w

    Plug the w value in

    l=6+2
