    The method of solving this equation looks fine to me and the answer is correct since 3 + x/2=10 is x/2=10-3 and so x/2 = 7 and so x = 14 as shown and checking, then subsituting 14 for x then x/2=7 = 10-3 so therefore it is fine the way it is.
