What is the inverse of the function below? 2x + 6

    To find the inverse of an equation, you swap x and y. so the equation becomes:

    x=2y+6

    you rearrange it to get y back on the left:

    2y=x-6

    divide across by 2:

    y = (x-6) / 2 < - - that's the inverse
