    3x^2 = 2 (x + 4)

    3x^2 = 2x + 8

    3x^2 - 2x - 8 = 0

    (3x + 4) (x - 2) = 0

    3x + 4 = 0

    3x = - 4

    x = - 4/3

    x - 2 = 0

    x = 2

    solution is : x = - 4/3 or x = 2 <==

    3*y*2 = 2 (y+4)

    now take it all to one side and solve it as a quadratic equation.
