    Explanation:

    x = the number

    [ (x + 5) x 2 - 6 ] : 2 = 8

    (x + 5) x 2 - 6 = 16 ║ mutlitply by 2

    (x + 5) x 2 = 22 ║ mimus 6

    x + 5 = 11. ║ divide by 2

    x = 6 ║ minus 5
