Rachel was packing up some of her old stuff into a box. A box can hold 8 pounds but she only filled it up 2/4 full. How much weight is in the box

    The weight that is in the box will be calculated as follows:

    (weight) = (fraction of the box that is full) * (maximum amount of weight the box can hold)

    fraction of the box that is full=2/4

    maximum weight the box can hold=8 pounds

    therefore the weight in the box will be:

    weight=2/4*8=4 pounds

    The answer is 4 pounds
