Boyle's law states that when considering gases, volume varies inversely with pressure. If V represents the volume of the gas and P represents the pressure of the gas, what would the formula be that represents this relationship? If a balloon has a volume of 4 L of gas with a pressure of 5 atmospheres, what will the volume be when the pressure is 3 atmospheres?

    (P1*V1) = (P2*V2)

    P1 = 5 atm

    P2 = 3 atm

    V1 = 4L

    V2=?

    (5*4) = (3*V2)

    20=3 (V2)

    V2=20/3 L which is 6.66666667L
