    Answer: Angle 1 = 27

    Angle 1 = 63

    Remember: complementary angles always add up to 90 degrees.

    Set up your equation.

    3x + 7x = 90 Combine like terms

    10x = 90 Divide by 10 to both sides

    x = 9 Answer!

    Substitute in (9) for x to find the measurements of the two angles.

    Angle 1: 3x

    3 (9)

    27

    Angle 2: 7x

    7 (9)

    63

    You can also check your work.

    27 + 63 = 90
