    Lets x is width

    length is 4 more than 3 times the width = 3x + 4

    2x + 2 (3x + 4) = 104

    2x + 6x + 8 = 104

    8x = 104 - 8

    8x = 96

    x = 96/8

    x = 12

    answer: the width of the rectangle is 12 meters
