    Hello:

    2x²-x-15=x (x+1)

    2x²-x-15-x (x+1) = 0

    2x²-x-15-x²-x = 0

    x²-2x-15 = 0

    (x²-2x+1) - 1-15 = 0

    (x-1) ² - 4² = 0

    Use the zero product property and identity : a²-b² = (a-b) (a+b)

    (x-1-4) (x-1+4) = 0

    (x-5) (x+3) = 0

    x-5=0 or x+3 = 0

    x=5 or x = - 3
