    2/3 + 2/4

Find a common denominator whatever you do to the denominator you do to the numerator.

    2 x 4 and 3 x 4 = 8/12

    2 x 3 and 4 x 3 = 6/12

    Add 8 and 6

    8+6=14 14/12

Now because it is an improper fraction ask how many times 12 goes into 14.

    1

Then the remainder is your numerator and the denominator stays the same.

    1 2/12

Now we need to find the lowest common multiple. They can both be divided by 2.

    2:2=1 12:2=6

They can't be divided anymore so the answer is:

    1 1/6

1 1/6, because if you at them you get 14/2 but that is improper so you make it into 1 1/6
