A shark was swimming at 20 feet below sea level. it descended 36 feet. where is it now?

Then it ascended 7 feet. Where did it end up?

    The shark was swimming at 20 feet below sea level then the shark descended 36 feet so the shark was 56 feet below sea level. Then the shark ascended 7 feet so the shark end up at 49 feet below sea level. 20+-36 = 50 feet below, 56-7 feet = 49 feet below sea level.
