    L = X

    w = X - 8

    P = 52 cm

    P = 2l + 2w

    52 = 2 (X) + 2 (X - 8)

    52 = 2x + 2x - 16

    52 + 16 = 4x

    68 = 4x

    68/4 = 4x/4

    17 = X.

    The length of the rectangle is 17 cm.

    W = X - 8

    W = 17 - 8

    W = 9 cm.

    The width of the rectangle is 9 cm.
