During the summer, you work 30 hours per week at a gas station and earn $7.75 per hour. You also work as a landscape for $12.50 per hour and can work as many hours as you want. You want to earn a total of $400 per week. How many hours must you work as a landscaper?

    30 hours ($7.75) + $12.50x = $400

    $232.50 + $12.50x = $400

    $12.50x = $400 - $232.50

    $12.50x = $167.50

    Divide both sides by $12.50

    x = $13.4 hours
