Make the whole number a fraction by putting a 1 in the denominator of the whole number.

for the mixed number, multiple the number by the denominator of the fraction it is with, then add that number to the numerator of the fraction.

then multiply the whole number by the reciprocal of the fraction.

    example: 2 divided by 5 1/3

    2/1 divided by (5•3+1=16/3)

    2/1 multiplied by 3/16

    2•3=6

    1•16=16

    6/16 simplified to 3/8

so 3/8 would be your answer.
