How many halves are in a forth and how can I explain it?

    (1/2) * (1/2) = 1/4

    A quarter is half of a half. Get a half of something, and split it into two halves and keep one of those halves. If you do that, you'll have a quarter.

    Well a forth is a quarter which is 1/4 and a half is 1/2 so technically there is half of a half in a quarter; )

    1/2*1/2=1/4 because you multiply the top and the bottom to get the answer.
