    Y = 12x + 7

    y = - 6x + 25

    multiply the second equation by 2

    y = 12x + 7

    y = - 12x + 50

    x cancels

    y = 57

    now plug in the value of y to the first equation

    57 = 12x + 7

    -7 - 7

    50 = 12x

    /12 / 12

    25/6 = x
