5 7/8 as an improper fraction. is the answer 47/8?

    Yes the answer would be 47/8

    You have to multiply the whole number (5) by the denominator (8) and then add the numerator (7) to get your new, improper numerator

    5 x 8 + 7 = 40 + 7 = 47

    Yes! What you need to do is multiply the five by the 8 because you have 5 whole sets of 8/8 fractions. then add that to the already existing 7/8
