Tennis balls are packed into a square box 12 in. on one side. The tennis balls can be touching, but they can't be compressed. The remaining space is filled with packing beads.

How many tennis balls can be packed onto the box? (Note: The diamenter of a tennis balls is 2.5 in.)

What is the volume occupied by the packing beads?

    A tennis ball is 2 in so you would divide 12 by 2 and 6 balls would fit on one side so 6*6 is 36
