    The function of x f (x) is just a fancy way of saying y = ...

    So, y=2x-5

    Now plug in what x should be to the equation:

    y=2 (-2) - 5

    y = - 4-5

    y=-9

    y = 2 (-1) - 5

    y = - 2-5

    y = - 7

    y = 2 (0) - 5

    y = 0-5

    y = - 5

    y = 2 (1) - 5

    y = 2-5

    y = - 3

    y = 2 (2) - 5

    y = 4-5

    y = - 1

    x f (x)

    -2 - 9

    -1 - 7

    0 - 5

    1 - 3

    2 - 1
