No 1 is not your answer, - 1 would be your answer.

    To show my work, here.

    1. Expand (6x - 6 = 4x - 8)

    2. Subtract 4x from both sides (6x-6-4x = - 8)

    3. simplify 6x - 6 - 4x to 2x - 6 (2x - 6 = - 8)

    4. Add 6 to both sides (2x = - 8 + 6)

    5. simplify - 8 + 6 to - 2 (2x = - 2)

    6. divide both sides by 2 (x = - 1)
