What happens when an inequality expression is divided by the same number. Does the sign stay the same each time or change directions? If the sign changes, explain what made the direction of the sign change. Describe a rule for this.

    The sign only changes when divided or multiplied by a negative number.

    Divided by a positive number, not change

    divided by a negative number, change sign

    Example

    10 > 5

    divided by 5, no change in sign: 2 >1

    but divided by - 5, change sign: - 2 < - 1
