What's the vertex of f (x) = (x-4) ^2+7

    y = (x-4) ^2 + 7

    (x-4) (x-4)

    x * x = x^2

    x * - 4 = - 4x

    -4 * x = - 4x

    -4 * - 4 = 16

    x^2 - 8x + 16

    y = x^2 - 8x + 16 + 7

    y = x^2 - 8x + 23

    formula to find vertex: - b / 2a

    = - b / 2a

    = - (-8) / 2 (1)

    = 8 / 2

    = 4

    vertex = 4

    (what i did was work out the exponent outsite the parentesis then i got the equation i wanted, and from that equation i used the formula to find the vertex and i just plugged the numbers of the equation into the formula and work it out)
