    4a + 4

    Step-by-step explanation:

    f (x) = x² + 2

    f (a) = a² + 2

    f (a+2) = (a+2) ² + 2

    f (a+2) - f (a) = (a+2) ² + 2 - (a² + 2)

    f (a+2) - f (a) = a² + 4a + 4 + 2 - a² - 2

    f (a+2) - f (a) = 4a + 4
