    x = 2, y = 8

    Step-by-step explanation:

    we are given x+2y=14 and - x+3y=26

    Solving by using the Equal Values Method,

    x + 2y = 14 = > x = 14-2y

    -x + 3y = 26 = > x = 3y - 26

    equating the above two we get,

    3y-26 = 14 - 2y

    3y + 2y - 14 + 26

    5y = 40

    y = 8

    substituting value of y in any equation we get x = - 2

    Hence the answer.
