    Let C = the cost of one CD

    We know that 5 CDs cost $20. If one CD costs C, then 5 CDs costs 5C; that is:

    5C = $250

    Divide both sides of the above equation by 5:

    C = $20/5 = $4 for one blank CD

    Here is the equation

    Let C = cost of one CD

    So, in a pack you can get 5 for 20

    So that means 5C=20

    To answer this you would devide by 5 on both sides to get C=4

    So the cost of one CD is $4
