Multiplying both sides of an inequality by a positive number doesn't change the direction of the inequality symbol. Nor does dividing. say if i had

    3 variables.

    - a < b

    - c being a negative number

    a * c > b * c

    example:

    4 (-6) > 5 (-6) would make this statement true: - 24 > - 30
