    I would think to do this ... 36500n + 2375 ... so then to calculate his salary after 15 years instead of the n you plug in 15 and the answer will be $549,875

    The answer is 72,125 US dollars

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Let the starting salary be P,

    At the beginning of each year he receives an additional 2,375 raise

    Since the number of years can be represented by n, it means for every year he gets 2375 raise, therefor the equation comes to n*2,375

    Since its an addition to his starting salary of 36500, we add his starting salary to the raise per year to calculate his total salary after n years, which can be represented by the equation=P + (n*2,375)

    Substitute P=36,500, n=15, in the equation above we get

    Salary = 36,500 + (15*2,375) = 72,125
