If a number cube is labeled with the numbers 1 through 6. what is the probablity of rolling a 1 or a 5 on the first roll?

    It would be 2/6 or 1/3.

    You can either get

    1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6

    1 and 5 are what you want

    so 2 out of the 6 choices are what you want

    so you have a 2/6 chance, or also simplified to 1/3
