I need to know what are ratios and rates

A ratio is the quantitative relation between two amounts showing the number of times one value contains or is contained within the other, and a rate is a measure, quantity, or frequency, typically one measured against some other quantity or measure.

A ratio can easily be expressed as fractions or as a decimal.

A rate is a bit different than the ratio. It is a comparison of measurements that have different units, such as grams and cents.
