The islands of Japan, unlike most countries in Europe, did not naturally have the raw materials needed to industrialize further. What do you predict Japan will do to support industrialization?

    What I predict?

    try to trade with other countries that had raw materials

    what they actually did?

    went into isolation and basically only used samurai swords all the way up until 1853 until america said I'm forcing you to trade with us and forced them by scaring them with a bunch of ships the Japanese couldn't defend against.

    Then they invaded all of the asian islands and manchuria to get resources.
