One package of chocolate chips contains 5/4 cups of chips. A cookie recipe uses 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to make one batch of cookies. How many batches of cookies will 2 packages of chips make?

    5 batches. Two batches of 5/4 would equal 10/4 which can be turned into

    2 1/2, 1/2 fits into 2 four times eliminating the 2 in 2 1/2 so you just have 1/2 which can make one more batch of cookies. Which brings you to 5 batches of cookies.
