20 blue pencils are placed in a box containing an unknown number of red pencils. 15 pencils are removed at random and 5 are blue. Based on this is it reasonable to assume that the number of red pencils was 40.

    Yes because 40 + 20 = 60

    If there are 60 pencils and you pull out fifteen there should be 5 that come out as blue.
