    To find the slope of this equation you need to put the equation into y=mx+b form

    m=slope

    First you need to take the 3 and distribute it to the x and - 4 so

    y+1=3x-12 (next you want to subtract 1 from both sides)

    y=3x-13

    Your slope is therefore; 3
