A man is walking down a very long flight of steps in a stairwell. He begins at 136 feet above ground level. He walks down at a steady rate such that he gets closer to the ground floor at a rate of 2.8 feet per second. How many feet above the ground is he after 10 seconds?

    To solve this you would need to find out how many feet he gets closer to the ground in 10 seconds

    so if he gets closer to the ground 2.8feet per second he would get 28 feet closer to the ground in 10 seconds (2.8x10=28)

    now we need to subtract the amount that he got closer in 10 seconds from where he started and that would be 108feet above the ground (136-28=10)

    answer: 108 feet above the ground after 10 seconds.
