    12 bills of $10 and 11 bills of $20.

    because 12*10 = 120 and 11*20 = 220

    add 120+220=340

    Answer: So there are 12 bills of $10 and 11 bills of $20.

    Step-by-step explanation:We are given that the cash register contains $10 and $20 bills.

    Let us say there are x number of $10 bills and y number of $20 bills.

    So there are total 23 bills.

    ... (1)

    ... (2)

    We are also given that the total value of bills is $340.

    So that gives us the second equation,

    ... (3)

    Plugging the value of x from equation (2) in (3),

    y=11

    Plugging this value of y back in equation (2),

    x=23-11 = 12
