The cost of a rental car at a certain company is a $50 fee plus $0.40 for each mile driven up to 100 miles. For every

mile over 100 miles it is $0.50 per mile. What would the total cost be for renting the car and driving it 120 miles?

    So the first multiply 0.4 times 100 which you would get 40 now add the 50 dollar fee to 40 which you would get 90 dollars. Now for the 20 miles remaining multiply 0.5 times 20 which you would get 10. Now add everything together 90+10 which would equal 100.
