    Y=ax^2+bx+c

    a is leading coefient

    if it is negative, then the parabola opens down

    if it is positive, then the parabola opens up

    y=-x^2+x+c

    so negative, parabola opens down

    as x approaches negative or positive inifnity, y approaches negative infinity
